If you currently do not have your own backcountry setup
we recommend
that you purchase at least your basics and become familiar with the use of your
own transceiver.
In the backcountry you are responsible for those peoples lives that
you are with, having avalanche awareness skills is a big must. If we are in an avalanche rescue situation then the
rescuers need to know how to rescue.
For the days when we are in the backcountry a certified member of
an internationally recognized guides’ association will guide
us, but still you can help everyone by being having avalanche
awareness skills.
If you want to be totally prepared and are interested
in knowing more about the snow we recommend an introduction course
at least for all serious riders. It is easiest if you go straight
to your own countries Avalanche Association. We have listed some
countries web sites that you can go to for more information.
